Special Event Coordination

Melissa Valenzuela (mvalenzuela@uapd.arizona.edu) is the Special Events Coordinator for the University of Arizona Police Department. Her responsibilites include, working with UAPD Command staff and University departments to assess security for campus events, billing and reconciliation of the Special Events account.

There are many events on campus that require supplemental police and security support. These include sporting events, concerts, lectures, workshops, testing, parties and other social events. The division is responsible for coordinating these events and staffing them with police and security personnel. Personnel volunteer to work these events and are paid based upon their current salary and compensation polices of The University of Arizona and The University of Arizona Police Department. Due to the number of special events, UAPD cannot guarantee the provisions of police or security personnel. It is recommended that the special event request form is completed and faxed no later than fourteen (14) calendar days.

If you require more information regarding scheduling of police or security services, you may call 626-6728. UAPD cannot provide services outside its normal jurisdiction. If you desire to schedule a request, complete the online special event request form and fax to 626-9460, attention to the Special Events Coordinator, Melissa Valenzuela. Once received, you will be contacted for confirmation.
